Children's Ministry

The mission of Children's Ministry at the Parish of Christ the King is to use our Catechetical Discipleship and involvement of parents to educate, mentor and encourage children in their faith and invoke the prayerful support of the community, so that those children can participate with their families in the enthusiastic and committed life of the Catholic Church. 

Virtual Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) begins Sunday, Nov. 29. CLOW is designed for children Pre-K - 4th grade and uses Church approved, age-adapted readings to help children learn about their faith. Using a virtual format, participants will receive 20- minute video lessons in lieu of the traditional Sunday morning lesson that occurs during the 9:15 a.m. Mass.

The Parish of Christ the King offers nursery for families each Sunday morning from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM.  The nursery staff consists of dedicated and qualified individuals who make your child's safety their top priority in a nurturing environment.  The nursery is located in the Marquette Early Childhood Development Center, on the West side of Quincy Avenue and is available for children ages six months through three years old.

Classes for those children who will be receiving the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are held each Sunday at 10:15 in the Sacred Heart Evangelization Center.

Family Formation - King's Kids will meet the 1st Wednesday of each month and is designed to help parents respond to the Church's call to be the first and foremost educators of their children and to help families grow in the transforming love of God by understanding and living the Catholic Faith.  Dinner will be offered beginning at 5:45 and formation will begin at 6:30 in Fletcher Hall.  

Catechists and assistants are always needed. 

VBS is a great way to share the Catholic faith with the children of the parish.  Music, crafts and other activities make it a fun experience for all the Preschool and Pre-k students! For more information contact Sara Seck at

"Totally Yours" is a week long youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith for children ages first grade through high school. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me" (John 4:16). 

Little Flowers Girls’ Club® is a Catholic club for girls ages 5 and up that teaches virtues through scripture, saints’ biographies and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Based on the 1906 Catholic classic The Catholic Girls’ Guide by Fr. F.X. Lasance, and the spirituality of St. Thérése, the Little Flower of Liseux, this beautiful, authentically Catholic program, has delighted and instilled in our girls a love of our Catholic Faith for over 25 years.
