ACTS Retreat

"They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one's need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved" (Acts 2: 42-47).

The ACTS retreat weekend was brought to the Parish of Christ the King in 2012, and since then, more than 550 parishioners have attended. The retreat is presented by lay Catholics who are fellow parishioners of the Parish of Christ the King, with the support of the pastor. The goals for the weekend are to provide opportunities for the retreatants to strengthen their faith, experience spiritual renewal, deepen their prayer life, and build strong, lasting friendships within the parish community. The guides for the retreat are the Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

People have credited ACTS with saving their lives, saving their marriages, convincing them to be ordained as priests or deacons, or leading them to the religious life simply by opening their eyes and their hearts to God's word. It has reinvigorated the spiritual lives of individuals, of families, of entire parishes.

The retreat begins on Thursday evening with check-in and ends Sunday with a pot luck lunch after the 11:15 AM Mass. Round trip transportation to the retreat facility will be provided. Cost for parishioners is $250 and non-parishioners $375. Financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending. If you are unable to pay all or part of the fee, please note that on your registration form.
