The Stewardship Committee at the Parish of Christ the King is composed of parishioner volunteers who recommend and enact productive plans for the effective implementation of Christian Stewardship as an expression of discipleship. The committee’s purpose is to use their personal commitment and love for the parish to develop and carry out the principles of stewardship so that all parishioners are inspired to witness their faith by promoting the work of the Gospel through their sacrificial gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Each year, the Stewardship Committee sponsors several events that enrich and encourage the faith lives of parishioners. These activities include the following:
The Finance Council is an advisory body to the pastor of the parish. The committee meets monthly to review monthly financial statements for the parish and school. Finance committee members assist in preparation of the Church, school and pre-school budgets for the fiscal year that ends on June 30 of each year. Major capital expenditures are reviewed by the committee and any financing decisions are discussed by the committee. They advise the pastor on the status of the parish financial position and provide oversight of the fiduciary business of the Church.
Members are appointed by the pastor, and one position from the school is appointed by the school board.
The Pastoral Council represents the body of the parish, to be a communication source to and from fellow parishioners and other parish committees, and to be aware of and responsive to the needs of the parish.
