About Christ The King

The Parish of Christ the King uses our God-given gifts and commitment to ministry excellence to evangelize, cultivate and empower a Catholic faith community where people authentically encounter the Lord in Word and Sacrament and are transformed to become living witnesses of God’s presence.

As Pastor of the Parish of Christ the King Catholic Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I welcome you to our website.  Our parish has been a part of Tulsa for more than 95 years and is distinguished by its outstanding tradition of serving God and neighbor.

A year after Tulsa’s formal incorporation in 1898, Holy Family Parish was established by the apostolic vicar of Indian Territory, Bishop Theophile Meerschaert.  In the mid 1890’s, Bishop Meerschaert had sought the aid of Mother Mary Katherine Drexel, of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament for Indians and Colored People, to build a Catholic school.

Virtual Tour

Saint Katherine Drexel holds a place of honor today in our Mary, Queen of Peace Chapel.  Her stained glass window is one of five to recognize prominent Catholic women, saints and beatified. Take a look at this window, our chapel, and more of the Parish of Christ The King.
